Bridge to the client
Perhaps you have already seen it on the Post en Dekker homepage: Post en Dekker has changed its service offering into a programme offering: Bridging the Gap: Go fix it!, Bridging the Challenge: Go beat the competition! and Bridging the Future: Go smart!
That may sound feisty and drastic, but substantially our philosophy of integral, modular designing of smart product families and smart customization hasn’t changed one bit. If OEM developers, and their product families, structure in the right way, by defining smart, flexible modules in a limited number of variants, they can limit customization as much as possible. That will help the OEM developers to save time and money so they can still serve their clients in the best possible way.
What we did change, however, is the message about what we have to offer and what exactly clients can expect from us. Because for us too it applies: ‘practise what you preach’. So we have structured our own offering in a smart way and we act as a bridge to the client with our ‘bridging technology’. That is why we have defined three programmes with which we can answer any client question, from quick fix to future proof product portfolio. But why are we not an engineering agency anymore and rather call ourselves engineers | consultants? Because we are not a ‘drawings factory’ but instead are more active at the crossroads of engineering and business process with the client.
We are integral designers who take into account all aspects of the chain in a design. We have knowledge of the end client, of the supply chain and of assembly and maintenance, and we translate these into the consequences of the modules we design. We can draw from all that knowledge in order to answer the client’s question. And that is why we also thought about Post en Dekker itself: Go smart!
